The Finnish Swimming Education and Lifesaving Association (SUH) is an educational and awareness-raising organisation founded in 1956, whose basic mission is to promote swimming skills, water safety and conditions. An important part of its work is education, and SUH has been training aquatic exercise and safety professionals for 60 years. Currently, SUH organises more than 200 training courses a year in different parts of Finland, training up to 3000 people to ensure that swimming skills are maintained.

Between 100 and 150 people drown in Finland every year. Relative to the population, this is significantly higher than in the other Nordic countries.
We hope that no one drowns. Good swimming and life-saving skills are a prerequisite for people to be able to safely enjoy the sport and leisure opportunities offered by the aquatic element

The partnership aims to promote swimming skills, especially for children, and more broadly to encourage people to develop their own swimming skills and ensure safety in the water.

"We are delighted to have found a partner who wants to create the conditions for everyone living in Finland to learn to swim. The partnership will enable us to produce a wide range of materials and content related to promoting children's swimming skills. With Aquanet's support, we will also be able to offer free webinars for swimming education professionals and anyone interested in improving their swimming skills and water safety."
Kristiina Heinonen , Executive Director of SUH, is pleased to say.

The cooperation can be seen in SUH's various campaigns, such as Swimming Week and the Wise on Waters campaign. In addition, the cooperation brings tangible benefits for families participating in SUH training sessions and for families who swim in safe baby and family swimming areas, for example.
"We consider SUH's diverse work on swimming and water safety to be valuable and socially significant. It is important for us to be involved in helping to promote swimming skills, especially for children, and to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn to swim and enjoy being in the water. I feel that this partnership is in line with our company values and will allow us to make a tangible contribution to this important cause, especially now that swimming pools and swimming schools have had limited opening hours over the past year. I hope that our support will help to secure the swimming skills of children, especially those whose families are not used to being in the water, so that the lack of swimming skills is not passed on from one generation to the next"
saysTanja Ikonen , Business Director of Aqua Action about the background of the cooperation.

We are happy that we can contribute in a concrete way to the development of swimming skills in Finland.
