Swimming is not considered an equipment sport, but with various equipment we still get help and support, e.g. for the development of swimming technique, swimming power and also variation in training. In this article, I present the most popular training equipment for swimmers who are just starting out.

Bye Bye! I hope these tips give you new inspiration for your own swimming training. Swimming is by no means supposed to be boring swimming from end to end of the pool (although sometimes that has its time and place), but varied for the very reason that motivation is better maintained. During my own coaching career of more than 10 years, I have found that this is the key to long-term training and development.

Swimming board

Breathing and kicking exercises play a big role in learning the basics of swimming. A swim board is an excellent tool for this. It is much easier to first learn, for example, breaststroke or freestyle kicking with a board, than to swim directly. In addition, you can practice freestyle breathing with one-handed swimming exercises without panicking about not staying afloat when you have a swim board to support you.

NOTE! Many swimming pools also offer these for rent, but if you have a board in your own equipment bag (of course in your favorite color), you will ensure that the board is always available when you need it and where you need it. Check out the models here .

Fins

If the freestyle kick feels particularly difficult or if it slows down your development in other areas, then fins are your training tool! With fins, you can make your kick more efficient and firmer, so that you can concentrate better on, for example, combining the arm stroke and breathing. Check out the models here.

Snorkel

Does breathing interfere with the development of other areas? If so, I recommend practicing with a snorkel as well. Snorkeling "eliminates" breathing so that you can focus better on other areas such as kicking or arm pulling. Check out the models here .
