Wetsuits are expensive purchases, with the step-by-step guide below you will take care of the condition of your suit and extend its lifespan.

Remove odors before washing

If your wetsuit has a persistent odor or mold, we recommend using an Odor remover treatment before washing to remove odors. You can spray it directly onto the wetsuit, soak the wetsuit, and then wash the wetsuit as described in section 2.

Wash wetsuit and UV protection suit

A clean wetsuit feels better, lasts longer and retains its elasticity. Use Revivex Wetsuit Cleaner to remove salt, dirt, sweat and bacteria from neoprene. If desired, finish the wash with a UV protectant to prevent fading and protect the material from sunlight.

Repair holes and tears with glue or spot

When your wetsuit has a hole or a seam is starting to come apart, repair it with Tenacious Tape Neoprene Patch. Cut a suitable piece, iron it on and you have a permanent, flexible and waterproof repair. Tip: also patch worn knees or elbows in advance – this will protect the suit from further wear and tear.

Repair small holes and cuts with glue

Make a permanent, waterproof repair with a flexible adhesive. For smaller holes and leaks, use Aquasure FD Repair Adhesive. This clear, urethane-based adhesive creates a waterproof, abrasion-resistant surface. Fill the hole with adhesive just beyond the edge of the tear, let dry overnight, and your suit is ready for the water again.

Store your wetsuit correctly – this is how you extend its lifespan

Hang the wetsuit in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and heat, which can weaken the neoprene. Allow the suit to dry for at least 24-48 hours. If storing the suit for a long period of time, fold it gently in its natural folds. Avoid storing it in places with large temperature fluctuations, such as a garage or attic. Choose a well-ventilated indoor space.
