A guide to choosing a swimsuit
Women's swimwear
To make it easier to choose your swimsuit size, we have created our own size charts for each of our brands, which contain converted European size markings. When trying on a swimsuit, a swimsuit of the right size will fit snugly, but the swimsuit should not squeeze or press unreasonably. It is good to keep in mind that the material will stretch when wet, which will give the swimsuit more space from the first swim. When trying on a swimsuit, it is also good to make sure that the swimsuit does not restrict your range of motion or squeeze, for example when lifting your legs.
Generally, Arena swimsuits are slightly smaller than normal. So if you are considering between two sizes in an Arena swimsuit, we recommend choosing the larger one. Speedo's size markings correspond well to their size. Funkita swimsuits stretch a little less when used than other brands, because the suits are made of 100% polyester.
When choosing a size, please note that the models may differ from each other and fit each swimmer differently.
When swimming, it is important that the swimsuit stays on securely, even at high speed. Therefore, when choosing a swimsuit, you should also pay attention to the design and cut of the suit.
Our selection includes training swimsuits that can withstand heavy use. Training swimsuits are not supported and the cuts of the swimsuits vary by model. For more support in your training swimsuit, choose a swimsuit that ties at the back and can be tightened to suit you. If you want a swimsuit that supports your body and needs support, for example, around your breasts, we recommend choosing a shaping swimsuit. Shaping swimsuits feature double fabric around the breasts and a supportive elastic band below the breasts. In addition, the suits also provide support for the midsection. Men's swimwear
When choosing the size of men's swimming trunks, you can use the size chart found under each product. For men's swimming trunks, the size is selected by measuring both the hip and waist circumferences.
When trying on swimsuits that are the right size, they should fit snugly. However, they should not restrict leg movement. When trying on dry swimsuits, it is also good to remember that when the swimsuits get wet, they will stretch slightly.
Men's swimming trunks have a drawstring that ensures the trunks stay on securely. Depending on the model, the drawstrings are either on the inside or outside of the trunks.
Our selection includes men's swimming trunks from Arena, Speedo, Funky Trunks and Beco. The swimming trunks are available in three different lengths.
The shortest leg is found in briefs, which are a traditional style of swimming trunks. In briefs, the leg length varies from 7cm to 15cm depending on the model. The average leg length is found in boxers, which, depending on the manufacturer, have a leg length of around 27cm.
The longest leg is found in the jammer swimsuit. The long-leg model is popular with both fitness and competitive swimmers. The leg of the traditional jammer swimsuit reaches slightly above the knee. In our selection you will also find Mid Jammer models, where the leg is slightly shorter than the traditional model.
In addition to swimming trunks, the men's swimwear selection includes a wide variety of swim shorts from Arena and Speedo. The swim shorts have a drawstring waist and mesh inner briefs.
Children's swimwear
The sizes of children's swimwear are marked in the size charts in addition to the sizes used by the manufacturers, as well as the centimeter sizes commonly used in Finland. The additional information for children's swimwear also includes size charts specified by the manufacturer, which are a good way to ensure the correct size.
However, the best way to make sure you have the right size swimsuit is to try it on. A swimsuit that is the right size won't be tight or constricting, and won't restrict your movement. It should be snug so that it stays on comfortably even at high speeds.
If you are unsure between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for Arena swimwear. Speedo children's swimwear is true to size.

If you are looking for a swimsuit for the beach or on holiday, we recommend swimwear in bright colours, such as pink or orange. Neon colours, such as neon green and neon yellow, stand out best in dark lake water.

Ei ole. Kaikissa saman merkin uima-asuissa kokotaulukko kategorian sisällä on sama, mutta esimerkiksi naisten uimapuvuissa Arenan ja Speedon kokotaulukot eroavat toisistaan. Kokotaulukot eroavat toisistaan samalla tavalla merkkien välillä myös miesten, lasten ja nuorten uimapukujen osalta.
