W Powerskin Primo Closed back, a closed-back women's racing swimsuit. Part of the Midnight Chrome Limited Edition collection.
Primo is the world's first tension-elastic racing swimsuit. Primo combines powerful compression with exceptional flexibility in a new way. The suit supports the muscles while allowing freedom of movement. This versatile new suit is suitable for all swimming disciplines and distances.
The suit is the result of several years of development and research by Arena, carried out in close collaboration with elite swimmers. It cannot be compared to previous racing suits, as it features entirely new technology based on textile innovation. Primo is the Italian word for first.
The suit's new Hyperforce™ fabric is tension-elastic (tension + elasticity); the fabric is firm yet flexible. Primo combines maximum compression throughout, durability, and completely new flexibility. The suit feels comfortable and does not restrict movement.
The Hyperforce™ fabric has a flow-directing surface that reduces water resistance and improves glide. The fabric is made from naturally water-repellent TPU fibers, which also helps improve hydrodynamics. Thanks to the material, the suit can be recycled at the end of its useful life.
The front of the suit features an internal X-tape construction, similar to that found in Arena's Carbon Glide suit. The X-shaped taping supports and stabilizes the core while connecting the upper body to the hips. The taping helps swimmers notice if their body rotates too far during the pull and helps return it to an efficient, streamlined swimming position.
Supportive taping runs along the buttocks and thighs inside the back of the suit. The taping lifts the hips and legs, makes it easier to extend the legs, and helps maintain the correct swimming position when fatigued. The lift from the taping is particularly noticeable during turns and dolphin kicks.
The flexible suit is easy to put on, significantly speeding up race-day routines. Primo can be put on in five minutes, whereas putting on a traditional racing swimsuit can take 30–45 minutes. However, choose the same size as your previous Arena racing swimsuit or refer to the size chart. How quickly the suit can be put on does not indicate whether the size is correct. The flexible Primo feels comfortable while still providing top-level compression.
For the first time, Arena racing suits are available in two different lengths, depending on the length of the upper body. The longer length is available in sizes 30–34. Additional fabric on the straps also increases comfort. Silicone tape at the leg openings keeps the legs in place.

Competition suit model selection
Competition suit model selection
Choosing the right competition swimsuit can feel challenging, especially when purchasing your first one. The suitable suit depends on the swimmer's age, competition level, body proportions, and personal preferences. You can find help choosing a competition suit model in our selection guides.
Choosing the right competition suit size
Choosing the right competition suit size
A racing suit's size is primarily chosen based on the measurements provided in the manufacturer's size chart. We recommend measuring the circumferences required by the size chart and comparing them to the product-specific size chart before placing an order.
Racing suits are designed to fit very snugly, so a new suit may feel tighter than usual during the first few fittings. A suit that is too large will not provide the intended compression or optimal performance in the water.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, the choice will depend on both your body proportions and the desired fit. As a general rule, we always recommend choosing a size that accommodates all your measurements. If needed, our customer service will assist you in selecting the appropriate size.
