The triumph of blue and white Speedos is Antti Kasvio's 50th anniversary publication.
The work reminds readers of the unyielding and victorious top swimmer, as we have come to know world champion and Olympic medalist Antti Kasvion. Between the covers of the book are collected texts from people who have met Anti in different arenas: at the Olympics, in swimming pools, on television, radio and in newspapers. In addition to Dunkirk, Barcelona, Sheffield and Rome, the texts of the multi-voice work swim in Sodankylä, Lieksa, Lappeenranta and Mikkeli, among others. The largely unpublished pictures show trips to Käkisalmi, for example.
It is hoped that lovers of swimming sports will find this publication in their reading list, whose captivating articles bring back memories from past decades. As a whole, the work brings out not only Antti Kasvio's career path, but also the general change and renewal of goals in Finnish swimming. It is desirable that the publication inspires to continue tracing and developing the past of swimming sports in the future as well. There are many stories yet to be told and stories yet to be heard.
